Karla has been a speech therapist since 1982 and has worked in several different rehabilitation and therapy settings. In 2001, she started U CAN LEARN when she realized there was an overall umbrella of processing to relearning.
If visual and auditory input is impeded, new information cannot be stored or processed. Learning does not take place. She earned an Irlen Screener Certificate in 2001 and has screened adults and children since then.
She became a Cogmed Working Memory provider in 2012 and provides access to the training program for ages 8 to adults. Part of that training is weekly coaching sessions to monitor the trainee’s progress through the completion of the program.
She is an Interactive Metronome provider and has run hundreds of hours of in-person training to increase motor timing, attention and focus, and overall mental quickness.
